Another weekend coming up!

Friday. I should be hopping myself to work knowing this will be the last day of work this week. But, I am quite down.

I am having a headache. I am so sleepy and tired. Plus, I have a pimple on my nose.

Sleeps have never been the same without my Teddy's eyes. I know it is childish but I grew up with those teddies.

Last Saturday, we went to Malate for the annual White Party. Ang daming tao, AS IN. We had fun, though. We went home at around 5 AM. Here are some of our pictures:

This is me on Richard's car. White with a dash of pink.

The Pockies (as we fondly call ourselves)
From Left to Right: Baby Pocky (Chicco / me); Scary Pocky (Cholo); ginger Pocky / Pocky Queen (Jeffy) and Posh Pocky (Richard)
Don't we look cute?

Another try in poem writing.

I am not expecting your world to move around me,
all I want is one moment of your attention
How many times I have tried to reach you out
but you’re not in my reach
I am not asking for too much...
But could you even try to care for me?
Could you even try to comfort me
in the middle of the night?
Could you even try to think of me?
Could you even try to live for me
the way I live for you?
I am not expecting all your time to be spent with me
all I ask is for a moment
because there are a lot of things left unsaid
and I know I cannot say it this time,
I am not asking for too much
But could you even try to be with me?
Could you try a little bit more
for this thing to work out?
Could you even try to look at me?
Find out what my eyes are telling you..
Could you even try to hold me?
Could you give to me
what I am trying to ask for?
Could you, at least, try to love me?
just try..

Another depressing poem from moi. Maybe this one could be a song. Dream on, Chicco.

Again, do not ask who the poem is intended for...

Here are parts of two songs I love for the moment: Since You've Been Gone and Behind These Hazel Eyes both by American Idol 1 Winner Kelly Clarkson

But since you've been gone
I can breathe for the first time
Im so movin on
Yeah yeah
Thanks to you
Now I get
I get what I want
Since you've been gone

You had your chance you blew it
Out of sight, out of mind
Shut your mouth I just can't take it
Again and again and again and again

I so love the song. Especially the the parts which I highlight. Here's a part fron Behind These Hazel Eyes. Favorite parts are in highlight.

Swallow me then spit me out
For hating you, I blame myself
Seeing you it kills me now
No, I don't cry on the outside
Anymore.
..

Here I am, once again
I'm torn into pieces
Can't deny it, can't pretend
Just thought you were the one
Broken up, deep inside
But you won't get to see the tears I cry
Behind these hazel eyes

Though my eyes are not Hazel, you will never get to see the tears I cried. As the song said, I don't cry on the outside anymore.

Currently listening to: Since You've Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson
Currently reading: just finished with Angels and Demons

CATFIGHT 2005 (updated)

CATFIGHT 2005

On the red side: President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo

STATEMENT OF THE PRESIDENT

Mga minamahal kong kababayan

For the last several weeks, the issue of the tape recordings has spun out of control. Tonight, I want to set the record straight. You deserve an explanation from me, because you are the people I was elected to serve.

As you recall, the election canvassing process was unnecessarily slow even after the election results were already in and the votes had been counted.

I was anxious to protect my votes and during that time had conversations with many people, including a COMELEC official. My intent was not to infuence the outcome of the election, and it did not. As I mentioned, the election had already been decided and the votes counted every major public opinion poll, and adjudged free, fair and our own NAMFREL

That said, let me tell you how I personally feel, I recognize that making any such call was a lapse in judgement. I'm sorry. I also regret taking so long to speak before you on this matter. I take full responsibility for my actions and to you and to all those good citizens who may have had their faith shaken by these events. I want to assure you that I have redoubled my efforts to serve the nation and earn your trust

I took office with a mandate to carry out a plan for the nation. Since that time, I have focused on making the tough but necessary decisions to make up for years of economic neglect. We passed a comprehensive, fiscally responsible national budget; raised new and necessary revenues to reinvest in the people; and implemented new anti corruption measures that have led to the highest collection of taxes in history.

Nothing should stand in the way of this work, or the next phase of my reform agenda, which includes new investments in education and social services with our new revenues; and an expansion of our successful anti-corruption and lifestyle checks.

That is why I want to close this chapter and move on with the Business of governing.

I ask each and every one of you to join hands with me in a show of unity, to help forge ONE philippines, where everyone is equal under the law, and where everyone has the oppurtunity to use their God Given talents to make a better life

Our nation is strong and getting stronger. The progress is steady and I ask you to walk with me on this journey to rebuild our great nation. I will remain your humble servant and promise you that I will fulfill my constitutional oath of office to serve the people to the best of my ability

God Bless the Philippines.

DELIVERY OF THE SPEECH: Almost all throughout her speech, she had this, uuhhhmm, constipated look. A really sad look in the eyes. but what ruined it all was when she said her last line...she actually smiled! Hehehe.

on the blue side: Susan Roces

It was legal but not moral, life must go on. Sinunod ko lahat ng mga batas. Sinunod ko kahit labag sa loob ko kahit nakikita ko na na in spite of our state, our financial crisis, personal and business crisis, pinilit tayo, whether we like it or not, nadagdagan ang ating VAT.

Bakit?

Remember Mrs. Arroyo, before foreigners, before foreign investors can trust you, you must first have the trust of your country men, which you have lost. You have embarrassed the Filipinos enough. There is nothing we can find that we can proud of that you have done from your day one to the present. You are full of empty promises. Obviously, you have no love for your country. The gravest thing that you have done is that you have is that you have stolen the presidency not one but twice. Thank you for being here. I am available for any questions you might have.

DELIVERY OF THE SPEECH: Artistang artista. You will think it was a scene in one of her movies. And there is a rumor going around that her speech is written by Director Joel Lamangan. For me, there are parts na medyo OA na yun pagkakasigaw.

Now, we, people in the newroom, await for what the public will think of these two. But a week after the whole drama, wala yatang nangyayari. No People Power IV nor a coup d'etat.

Asan na si Garci? Umamin rin kaya siya.

Being a news monitor, I am able to watch the congress hearing on this controversy. And, frankly, they are wasting too much time on this. Imagine all of the members of the congress being stuck in that hearing for almost 10 hours twice - thrice a week? Eh puro away eh. Silly. Totoo nga: ONLY IN THE PHILIPPINES.

Now, shall we move on? Yes, I think we should after filing formal complaints. People Power will not work for us anymore. The Filipinos are too tired from all the drama happening for the THIRD time.

File the impeachment, gather all the necessary evidences, then go on with other things, such a making useful laws.

Simula pa lang ito. Ito ang Primer ng drama sa gobyerno. Ang away ng biyuda at ng "pangulo." In fairness, the administration seems undisturbed by any threat. They will also continue finding ways to get out of any allegations. On the other hand, the opposition will also continue finding evidences that will put the president in hot water. They will not stop unless PGMA is out of the Palace.

Stay tuned, knowing Filipinos, this will get even better!

July 8th, 2005

and the political turmoil continues...

Prominent political figures join the calls for the resignation of PGMA. Former President Aquino, the LIBERAL Party (which consists of Senate president Drilon, Senator Pangilinan among others.), Manny Villar, and seven of her cabinet members.

This morning, those seven cabinet members resigned to their office and caled for the president's own resignation.

I heard awhile ago that the group headed by Rez Cortez (NCCV yata yun) said that they support the calls for resignation but they do not want VP Noli de Castro to replace her. They want a transitional government to be headed by the widow, Susan Roces. (OMG!)

The President's reaction to all of these? She firmly said last night through Nation Address through the radio that she will not resign her office.

Who supports the President? Angelo Reyes, JDV, and the remaining cabinet members. The whole AFP and PNP force are said to be behind her too.

Other countries are joining in this support: China, Bolivia and the US expressed their support in the administration of Arroyo.

This drama is getting better. Better yet scarier. You do not know what the Filipino People is capable of doing in times like this.

I think what they should do is stop the calls for resignation because the president is firmly stating that she would not resign. They should gather evidences, file an impeachment complaint, then move on with other things. Like what we did in Erap's time.

A rally is now being held at Ayala Avenue, Makati City. I wonder what will happen over the weekends.

I just had a bad day yesterday. And i don't think i handle it very well. I was so down the whole day yesterday. Iwas not in the mood to do work. I was not in the mood to listen to good music. I was not in the mood to read the book I am reading this moment (the Little Prince).

I think I am having a better day today. But the bad news: I am sick. And we have to monitor press conferences, statements and reactions.

Can't wait to go home.

Karla (my officemate) and I are supposed to go to Robinson's Galeria later. But, with what is happening, I don't know if we will push through.

If Only

I thought this was just another cheesy movie, but it proved me wrong.

I SO love the story. Made me cry when I watched it last Saturday.

The story is about how time is precious. The guy (Paul Nichols) was given a second chance to change what will happen in the future. As his "envision" tells him, his girlfriend (Jeniffer Love Hewitt) died of a car accident.

When he woke up the other day, the events of the previous day happened all over again. So he tried to show the girl how much he loved her.

But at the end of the day, they rode the taxi thatb the girl rode in the previous day. As his "envision" told him, they met a car accident. But the different scene fron his envision is that the guy died, instead of the girl.

In short, he saved her. All because he loved her.

After that, I failed to do a movie marathon. Instead, I watched the second season of The Simple Life.

I am still at wotk but I am about to go home. I have to go to BIR early tomorrow.

Can you believe it? I cannot.

Misty Eyed over Maala-ala

Here I go again. This is why I hate going on duty every Thursday nights.

Between Magpakailanman and Maala-ala Mo Kaya, I chose to watch the latter instead of the former.

Magpakailanman features a story of the recently concluded Pinoy Pop Superstar winner, Jonalyn Viray. The actress who played her role was Ciara Sotto. One of the reasons why i chose to watch the other show. Enough said.

I know I am a kapuso, and I do not want to be a traitor to my network, but I cannot help say this: ANG GALING NG MAALA-ALA MO KAYA. The story, the actresses, and the acting! WOW talaga. But there is something confusing with the story.

The story is about two bestfriends (played by Jean Garcia and Pokwang) who met accidentaly. When Jean Garcia jumped out of the window to escape from her "captives." So they became friends, nag-away, nagkaiwanan, nag-away dahil sa lalaki, nagkaiwanan ulit, nagkasigawan. Lahat na.

At the end, I thought Jean Garcia died because of the hospital scene where Pokwang was crying outside the emergency room. Then a doctor came out and waved her hands as if saying, "wala na." Pokwang cried. (pokwang is a great comedian, I do not know that she can act too.)

Then after the comercial gap, buhay ulit si Jean. So I thought this was just one of the flashbacks. But as the ending voice over spiel of Pokwang suggested:

"Tatlong dekada na kaming magkasama, hangang ngayon, siya pa rin ang kasama ko..."

Parang biglang: anong nangyari?

Magulo, but the story was good. I cired over about three scenes.

Still at work. But work's done. I want to go home na but I am waiting for my sundo.

SONA Day

SONA Day. It means ngarag na naman kami dito sa work.

The last weekend was great but very tiring. We went to Malate, Synder KTV Bar and Bed Bar. My friends from SAGA were also there at Bed Bar. We danced the night away. But they failed to play this song:

And now we're slightly weathered, we're slightly worn
Our hands grip together, eye to eye through the storm yet
I still believe in ever after with you, yeah...
Coz life is a pleasure with you by my side
And there ain't no current int his river we can't ride
I still believe in ever after with you

Sunday Conversation.

Papa: May pasok ka ngayon?
Chicco (busy reading Twisted): wala (but in my mind: I have my days off, unlike you...)
C (still busy reading): uhuh (It's News and Public Affairs. How much do you know about me and my life?)
P: Ano ng balita? Mareregular ka ba dun?
C (still busy reading, slightly annoyed): hindi ko alam...(how many times did you ask me that question? Countless.)

Monday Conversation.

Papa: May pasok ka ngayon?
Chicco (busy getting water from the ref): uhuh
P: Anong oras pasok mo?
Chicco (busy drinking water): (gulp) 2 PM (drinks again)

How I love our little heart-to-heart, father-and-son talks, Pa!

My Yahoo! acount has been hacked by someone. And if ever you are reading this post of mine, here's some words for you.

Will you stop stop using my account? You are creating too much damage and you get my friends calling my house at dawn just to ask if my aunt really died. I still believe in karma, and I hope karma goes its way to you, your family and to all of your loved ones.

Don't you have anything worthwhile to do rather than asking money from my friends? Better f*ck off and get a life (if you know what life means!)

On to other things, PGMA still hasn't resigned. She is to deliver her annual SONA in 20 minutes time.

Hi to all my friends reading my blog!

SONA Thoughts

Two days after the much anticipated SONA of PGMA. It may be her last SONA for she is pushing for charter change through constituen assembly.

The State of the Nation Address was very short, the shortest in history, they say. But I think it was straight to the point.

As always in this country, a lot of critics, like the oppositions, bashed the president's SONA.

Critics said that she failed to address some important issues like the Garci Tapes and the Jueteng Scandal involving her family. IMO, I think the president is right not to address these issues in the SONA. At least she did not use the SONA to defend or explain herself. Not even to get back to her critics. She just said what she wanted to see for the coming days.

At the end of speech, she was almost on the verge of tears. This may be her last SONA.

Last Friday, before PGMA's SONA, Senator Panfilo Lacson delivered his own TSONA (True State of the Nation Address). A day after PGMA's SONA, Senator Jinggoy Estrada and Representative Francis Escudero both delivered their anti-SONA in their respective houses. Impeached president Joseph Estrada released his SONA through a press release.

I think this is just a proof how many of them would want PGMA's position. They all want to deliver their own SONA. I won't be shocked if Susan Roces will deliver her own in the coming days.

Now that would be interesting...
